Dr. Michelle N. Harris is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice and Criminology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and an affiliated faculty member of UNC Charlotte’s Violence Prevention Center. Her research examines the intersection of mental health, victimization, resilience, and criminological processes, with over two dozen peer-reviewed publications to date. She was recently awarded the 2025 Division of Victimology of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences New Scholar Award, a national distinction awarded annually to one early-career scholar demonstrating exceptional merit and contribution to the field of Victimology.
